Join us to learn about the launch of a new Black-Focused Pedagogy Fund that will provide Grants to Black Scholars in order to support curriculum development that infuses Afrocentric knowledge into programs and courses, incorporating Black histories, arts, culture, literature, and research that reflects the richness and diversity of Black scholarship at TMU.

This session explores the intersection of Indigenous Science and experiential learning through immersion in a hide tanning. Participants will have the opportunity to assist with tanning activities while gaining insight into its cultural significance and practical applications. In an accompanying talk, we will discuss the integration of Indigenous Knowledges into our teaching practices, highlighting the resilience and innovation inherent in Indigenous Knowledge systems. We will also explore how Indigenous pedagogies challenge conventional educational paradigms and provide a framework for re-centering Indigenous education.
