Cezara Chesu was born in Bacau, Romania and immigrated with her family to Windsor, Canada in 2008. Since 2008, Cezara was able to navigate multiple streams of knowledge that aided her in developing her identity and cultivated her growth. Cezara is a University of Windsor graduate in the Honours B.A Political Science Law and Politics Specialization with Spanish Minor, and Master of Political Science. She is currently in the process of completing her Master of Immigration and Settlement Studies at Ryerson University. Cezara has a wide range of experience in multiple fields of employment. From non-profits, to working for the city, legal offices, as well as libraries, Cezara is confident that she can handle just about any field that is thrown her way.

In her position as a Project Coordinator for the Colour of Birth project, Cezara aims to become as knowledgeable as possible about midwifery education, the diversity of the midwifery workforce and what it means to be a midwife of colour in a country like Canada, both in the past and presently. Cezara is continuously seeking to expand her knowledge and improve her understanding of the world we all live in. This project means a great deal to her as it allows Cezara to fully dive into a pool of knowledge that she was previously not introduced to before.
