Ryerson University: Your Back To School Resource

Experts offer tips on learning success, student finance, leaving home and more

With September just around the corner, now is the time to start planning for the new school year.  To help prepare students and parents alike, Ryerson University student and faculty experts offer an array of tips on all things back to school.

Ryerson’s Back to School media room http://www.ryerson.ca/news/media/spotlight/bts2012/index.html will be home to more than a dozen tip sheets over the next two months.  Starting next week and continuing throughout the summer, the Ryerson Back to School campaign will offer advice on the following topics:

Monday, July 30 – Avoiding the freshman “15”

Wednesday, Aug. 1 – Living Green on campus

Tuesday, Aug. 7 – Developing positive homework habits

Thursday, Aug. 9 – Consumer technology for academic success

Monday, Aug. 13 – Online and on campus safety tips for students

Wednesday, Aug. 15 – Tips on surviving your first year from Ryerson alumni

Monday, Aug. 20 – Managing anxiety and getting a better sleep

Wednesday, Aug. 22 – How to fit in: tips for international students

Monday, Aug. 27 – Making the most of first year as a mature student

Wednesday, Aug. 29 – The art of networking

Tuesday, Sept. 4 – Finding a part-time job

Wednesday, Sept. 5 – Value of joining student clubs

Thursday, Sept. 6 – Cool back-to-school technology from the Digital Media Zone

Monday, Sept. 10 - How to stay fit

Wednesday, Sept. 12 – First year jitters: surviving your first year at University

Monday, Sept. 17 – Social and digital media tips for academic success

Wednesday, Sept. 19 – Managing your money: tips on student finances
